Educational & Career

Education

I have a B.A. from Purdue University (West Lafayette, IN) in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. I also completed most of the Computer Science (B.S.) program at Purdue, but did not complete this program at the time in favor of attending graduate school in psychology.

Since the 2006-2007 school year I have been supremely fortunate to be attending the School of Music at Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA as a Music Education major with an emphasis in Jazz Studies, studying with Mace Hibbard.

For several years I was a graduate student at the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, IL where I was working on a Masters in Counseling and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.). I left this school after deciding to switch careers.

For the sake of completeness, I graduated from Valparaiso High School, went to Benjamin Franklin Middle School, and also Hayes Leonard Elementary. (Valparaiso Community Schools)

Career

Currently I am on staff at Georgia State University working full-time as a supervisor in Undergraduate Admissions.

I also do some freelance web design and programming.

Previously, while I was attending classes full-time, I was working part-time at the Fox Theatre in the production department while also working part-time for the GSU School of Music as a Stage Manager.

Prior to moving to Atlanta I was in the Admissions & Emergency Services Department at Porter-Starke Services, a community mental health center. Prior to being in A&ES, I spent a year working as a Case Manager at the same agency working with adults with chronic and/or severe mental illnesses. I have over five years experience providing direct care in the field of mental health.

While at Purdue I worked part-time as a Lab Assistant for the Purdue University Computing Center maintaining and supporting the instructional computer labs for the university.

During summers between school years at Purdue I worked full-time at a factory in my home town of Valparaiso, IN.
